Last weekend I went to Toronto for National Portfolio Day, held annually at OCADU. It was my first time going back to TO in a REALLY long time so it was super exciting, and my first time getting my art critiqued by someone else that wasn't a teacher or my peers.

National Portfolio Day at OCADU & Toronto
Hello again! I'm about a week late on this post, but at least I'm getting it in right?
Last weekend I went to Toronto for National Portfolio Day, held annually at OCADU. It was my first time going back to TO in a REALLY long time so it was super exciting, and my first time getting my art critiqued by someone else that wasn't a teacher or my peers.
I was beyond nervous about the assessment because I'm really not that confident in my art, (sorry, you're not going to get pics of my art yet!) but it went a lot better than I thought! This post is mainly about my experience at the event, so it'll just be a lot of text and not much else euhehe. Please keep reading if you'd like to hear about my experience!

Thanksgiving Weekend
Long time no post! My senior year of high school started in early September so I've been flooded with assignments and kind of forgot about my blogspot whoopsies
This weekend was Thanksgiving, so I got a four day break from school ー( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
I spent a lot of it with friends and very little of it doing homework, which may or may not be a good thing. Continue on for a summary of my fun-filled weekend 。◕‿◕。

NOTW: Pink Lemonade
Just a super quick update on what my nails look like this week since I haven't updated in a while!
It was my first time applying fimo decals to my nails so it took me two tries to get it right. It wouldn't stick to my nails, but i finally figured out that my nails polish had to be slightly tackier to apply it on :P
I franken'd my NYC Fuchsia Glamour (aka Pink Champagne) with a couples drops of Revlon's Cherries in the Snow because the original color was way too much of a pale pink to my liking. The gold polish in China Glaze's Lighthouse from their Anchors Away collection way back in 2011 :) The fimo fruits came in a little bundle and I received it from one my good friends for my birthday back in April, which I'm assuming is from Sally's. ^^

NOTW: Glitter Gradient ft Glamorous from the Fergie Collection
It's been ages since I updated on this, my apologies!
Just a short post on what my nails look like this week using Glamorous from Fergie's wet n wild collection and Light House from China Glaze (:
The application was awesome because the brush was so thick that it covered my nails in one go, though I had to go back to build up the glitter haha. There's medium hexagonal glitter along with even smaller hexagonal glitter in a clear base. I picked this up at Walmart for about $3.80.
I might just go back and get a few more from this collection because some of the polishes look super duper pretty!

NOTW + Makeup
Just a quick update on what my nails are looking like this week. I probably won't have enough time to do any fancy stuff once school starts ; u;
Simple floral nails :)
I picked up a few drugstore products too; Marcelle eyeshadow duo in Slate, and L'oreal Infallible Laquer Liner in 171 Blackest Black.
Retailed for about $8 CDN, but I got it on sale for $2.98. Score!
The jar is made of glass and is fairly heavy. The brush that came with the gel liner is quite lovely, and makes application really easy! Bought for $10.98 CDN
My mom also gave a bottle of Dior's Vernis Nail Laquer in Calypso. Can't wait to try this baby out because the colour is so pretty *___* Retails $23 CDN at Sephora.
Aaaaaaaaaaand, that's all I got for now. Hopefully I can still update every once and a while when I'm not busy from academic stuff LOL.

DIY Mugs
After a week of having these mugs sitting in my room, I found the opportunity to fire these up in the oven with the cupcakes I was baking!
I made three mugs in total using the sharpie method that's been fluttering about on Pinterest and the rest of the internet to create these cute babies. Basically, you draw/write whatever you wish on whatever porcelain dish you have with a sharpie pen, and bake it for 30 minutes at 350 F in the oven. They're not dishwasher safe so you'll have to hand wash them; luckily for me, my parents rarely use it, LOL.
The triangles on my giraffe mug were inspired by oh, hello friend.
